About Eric Francis Photography:

Choosing your wedding photographer is going to be one of the largest and most important decisions you make in your preparations for your wedding day. It is the only wedding expense that provides you a lasting return on investment. Twenty years from now, your wedding pictures will be all that remains from you wedding day.

It is easy to be wowed by splashy presentations and a few nice pictures. But, when it comes down to your wedding day, there are no second-chances, no do-overs, and no re-shoots. I [Eric] have been a working photojournalist and photographer for 2 decades. I have built my career working for many of the biggest national and international magazines, newspapers, and wire services. Photo editors around the world have routinely trusted me to capture the essence of a story when there are no second-chances or do-overs.

When I started shooting weddings, very few had ever seen such a unique and honest approach. Often, it required some education, and a leap of faith from clients because my photojournalistic approach was not the norm in wedding photography. Now, 15 years later, it seems every photographer in the industry lays claim to the “wedding photojournalist” title in some form. While this has helped popularize the idea of wedding photojournalism, it has also muddied the waters a bit. Photojournalism and candid photography are not the same thing. It is not the act of simply pointing a camera at a subject when they’re not looking. It is the forming of relationships with, and earning the trust of your subjects.

Trust! It is this trust and comfort that allows you [the client] to let down your guard and reveal true and honest emotions. Trust and comfort, when combined with vision and experience, are the secret ingredients that separate me from others. I take tremendous pride in this skill set because it is not something that can be bought in a camera store or manufactured in Photoshop. It cannot be assigned with an arbitrary title or rented like office space. A dedication to craft, a few good mentors, and a passion for telling your story have made me the photographer I am today.

See what happens when a couple, their family and friends allow an experienced photojournalist into their lives for one very important day.
